Valerie Taylor
gave an illustrated presentation on the various aspects
of CRP's work at the Nova University

Fort Lauderdale, FL: On Friday evening, 13th March, 2009
an audience gathered at the Nova University, Fort Lauderdale
for an evening introducing the work of the Centre for the
Rehabilitation of the Paralysed, (CRP) in Bangladesh.
Valerie Taylor gave an illustrated presentation on the
various aspects of CRP's work, a non government organization
celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The talk was
introduced by Dr Tu who is closely involved with the work
of the HOPE Foundation in Bangladesh. Dr Tu is shortly to
visit Bangladesh and is exploring ways of commencing a Trauma
Centre with the HOPE Foundation in Cox Bazar, in collaboration
with the Bangladesh American Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Atiquer Rahman, President of the Bangladesh American
Chamber of Commerce, Florida (BACC) visited CRP in Savar
last year and invited Valerie Taylor to visit Florida to
share with the members of the Bangladesh community and the
supporters of the HOPE Foundation about the work of the
CRP. A plaque was presented to Valerie Taylor on behalf
of the BACC by Mr. Mujibuddin, Executive Secretary of Bangladesh
American Chamber of Commerce, Florida also another on behalf
of the Nova University was presented by Dr Cohen, the Provost
of the University. He welcomed Valerie to the event prior
to her presentation, explaining the importance of job satisfaction
if we as medical workers are really committed to our patients.
Dr Salahuddin Ahmed of the Nova University and of the HOPE
Foundation also gave a speech prior to the presentation.
A cultural show followed the speeches and presentation,
where Bangladeshi young people living in Florida danced
and sang for the audience. The evening concluded with refreshments
and a chance for the members of the audience to share ideas
and plan for the future.
